Jakarta Environment Dept. targets to manage City waste fully inside the City, not in Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST), Bekasi, West Java, anymore.

This is our big plan. We want to use Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) technology for City waste management

"This is our big plan. We want to use Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) technology for City waste management," said Ali Maulana Hakim, Deputy Head of Jakarta Environment Dept., Wednesday (7/19).

Sunter ITF Construction Will Start in August 2017

He explained, ITF technology for waste management is currently can be done in Sunter, North Jakarta by using Build Operate Transfer (BOT) scheme.  ITF technology could process about 2,200 tons of waste per day.

"We have a plan to build ITF in three other locations using Build Own Operate (BOO) scheme. With this scheme, from its land procurement to waste processing are guaranteed by investor," he said.

He mentioned, ITF will be built in Cilincing, North Jakarta; Cakung, East Jakarta; and Duri Kosambi, West Jakarta. From those three locations, 3,600 tons of waste volume could be processed.
